About

Rhyme

History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes.

Most news arrives without context and leaves without resolution. Rhyme is built on a simple conviction: the most useful thing you can know about a headline is what happened the last few times something like it occurred.

Every story on this site is cross-referenced with the historical patterns it resembles. We show the cases, say plainly where the comparison breaks, and turn the outcomes into a base-rate outlook with its confidence stated. You can disagree with a score; the point is that you can see it.

Principles

  • Sourced first. The news section links its sources. The analysis is labelled as analysis.
  • Transparent numbers. Every probability has a basis line. Every pattern lists its cases.
  • Honest about limits. Base rates are priors, not predictions. We say so on every page.
  • Light and private. A static site with no tracking cookies, no paywall, no account.
